RUSH FAQ'S

01

What is Rush?

"Rush" is an exciting period of time that gives you an opportunity to explore Greek life. Throughout rush week, Alpha Phi Gamma holds a variety of free events where we try give you a better idea of who we are, what we stand for, and how we strive to impact the community. Rush is also a time for you to meet the sisters as well as for us to meet you! Be sure to come out, have some fun, and see if Alpha Phi Gamma is the right fit for you!

02

Are there any requirements to join? Do you have to be Asian?

In order to be eligible to pledge, you must have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.3. You do NOT have to be Asian. As a cultural sorority, we encourage diversity which is apparent in the many different nationalities represented in Alpha Phi Gamma across the nation. In order to receive a bid, you must attend the final informational during the rush period and schedule an interview with one of the sisters.

03

How much does it cost to be in a sorority?

Although only sisters know the exact cost of our dues, it should be known that, financial issues have never been a problem at Zeta Chapter. As a close-knit sorority, we are completely aware of each other's situations and are always willing to create a situation in which that particular sister(s) are able to still remain an active member within the chapter. Also know that dues will only benefit you whether it be paying for a sisterhood dinner, rush event, etc. These events will then be paid for by the sorority rather than out of your own pocket. Inevitably, the dues goes right back to you!

04

What is pledging? Does being in a Sorority take a lot of time?

Pledging is a time to get a depper understanding of the sorority and the sisters. It is a time to get to figure who you are, learn time management and build a relationship with the actives. The time you put into the sorority is your own. It depends on the individual because the more effort you put into the organization, the more you will get out of the experience.
